History of the Estate

We are located in the heart of Slavonia, or eastern Croatia.

The property was acquired in the 1930s, and the Babić family has owned it for almost 100 years . The house you will stay in was built in 1962, but was completely renovated over a period of 6 years (2018-2024) and now has modern amenities and comfortable furniture to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

All the old contours of the property have been retained to preserve the old Slavonian charm, including two old wells , a barn and of course the entrance gate .

If you want to experience beautiful, untouched and peaceful nature , Oaza Mira Laze is your perfect vacation home.

History of the Village

Laze is an old and small Croatian village located near the town of Nova Gradiška. The first records about Laze date back to the 17th century and show that several families lived in the village during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Throughout history, this area was inhabited by soldiers and warriors who protected the borders of Austro-Hungarian, and later of Croatia. Hence the name of the village football club "Graničar" ( border guard ).

At the peak of its expansion, the village had around 500 inhabitants. However, today only around 200 remain. Every year in June, the village organizes the Sokoli Memorial , which celebrates the lives of the defenders who died protecting this Croatian region in the Homeland War.
